We're on a sugar high!
Our club meeting took a delicious detour to a La Crosse classic - The Sweet Shop! Founded in 1921 by Cecil Allen, this North Side gem has stayed in the family for over a century. Anyone who's lived here has a Sweet Shop memory - just ask Dean, whose paper route earnings back in the day went straight to banana splits and malts!
From handmade candies to small-batch ice cream, they're still doing things the old-fashioned way. We were treated to a behind-the-scenes peek at where the magic happens - Lovefood, cinnamon sticks, chocolate-covered maple creams... and fun fact: Blue Moon is almond-flavored, not Fruit Loops.
