Maybe you’re already interested in Membership and growing Rotary After Hours, or have professional skills in Public Image. Perhaps you really love the volunteer opportunities offered each month and want to be a part of identifying and scheduling them for us to partake in. Or, maybe you’re interested in learning something new and just know you want to serve. Wherever you may be, we’d love to have you join one of our many committees!
Rotary After Hours Committees:
- Foundation - The Rotary Foundation is the charitable arm of Rotary International and is supported solely by contributions from Rotarians and friends of the Foundation. Through Foundation grants, Rotarians are able to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty. The role of RAH's Foundation committee is to develop and implement a plan to support the Foundation through participation in grant projects and activities and through financial contributions. The Foundation also coordinates our annual Shark Tank event which helps identify our 'big' service project for the year. For more information, talk to Sierra Lyon!
- Membership - This ongoing process is essential to supporting Rotary International and Rotary After Hours which needs a dedicated club membership base to succeed. Specifically, this committee's role is to develop and implement an action plan/ideas/activities for membership development that actively attract, retain and engage members. Talk to Neil Wieser if you're interested in learning more!
- Mini Masters - This fall (2023) we'll celebrate our 10th Annual Mini Masters fundraiser event. All proceeds raised from this fun night at Riverside Amusement park go to support our Youth Exchange efforts. This committee helps identify and reach out to sponsors and coordinates the fun mini-golf event! Are you good at creating fun? Or maybe you have the special skill of fundraising? For more information, talk to Stef Kline!
- Programs/Socials - Identifies and schedules high-quality programs/speakers (bi-monthly) and a social (1+/month) that resonates, educates and serves our members. For more information, talk to Stef Kline!
- Public Image - Creates and implements a plan to tell Rotary After Hours' story to the public, and to promote the club’s projects and activities. This is done through social media posting, press releases to the news for story coverage, development of the cRAHnicle, annual RAH apparel purchases, etc. To join or hear more, talk to Marissa Dickinson!
- Service - Service Above Self is Rotary’s principal motto, which means that every Rotarian is responsible for finding ways to improve the quality of life in his or her community and in those around the world through service. RAH's service committee helps identify volunteer opportunities that are of interest to our members and then schedules/coordinates the service activity or project. Our club typically has 1-2 volunteer activities each month. Is "Service" your middle name? Talk to Phil Waselik about getting involved!
- Ugly Sweater 5k - This is our biggest fundraiser of the year, held the first Saturday in December. Proceeds raised from this run/walk allow us to do our Shark Tank projects and build funds for a larger global grant project. This committee starts working in August and conquers and divides tasks to make the event run seamlessly! This can be anywhere from helping with sponsorships, course logistics, coordinating swag bags for the participants, recruiting volunteers to help us, etc! It's an all-hands-on-deck event! Save the Date - Saturday, December 2nd! To join the merry fun, talk to Ashley Santolin!
- Youth - This committee is dedicated to supporting all things youth - in our community and through our yearly Rotary Youth Exchange student. The committee may work to support our local Interact clubs, Global Scholars (our first ever in 2023!) and identify students to send to RYLA with the help of our Dave Knutson Memorial Scholarship. Do you have a passion for helping young people develop, grow and become servant leaders? If so, talk to Ashley Santolin!
We're always looking for people to help support our club. Please consider what your gifts or interests are and how you can help After Hours become an even more vibrant and thriving club!
