Eradicating Polio One Pint at a Time!
We held our 5th annual beer tasting event to raise money for Polio Plus on March 28th at Big Al's Pizza. The eradication of polio is one of Rotary's longest standing and most significant efforts. Along with our partners, we have helped immunize more than 2.5 billion children against polio in 122 countries. None of those kids will have to suffer the devastating, paralyzing disease. We have reduced polio cases by 99.9 percent worldwide and we won't stop until we end the disease for good.
30 Rotary members, friends & family helped raise over $1,300 in one evening. With the Gates Foundation 2:1 match, that equates to $3,900+!
The average cost to fully protect a child against polio is $3. 1,300 more kids will be saved from the paralyzing disease.
