As we continue to remember our friend and fellow Rotarian, Dave Knutson, please join RAH members supporting a scholarship in his honor.
When I heard that Dave Knutson, an active Rotary After Hours member, passed away at the age of 39, I was shocked. Dave has been involved with many club activities, and his focus was always on providing opportunities to support and enrich the youth in our community. Shortly after the memorial services for Dave, our board discussed how we could best remember and honor Dave. I recalled a conversation I had with Dave about RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards), a leadership camp for high school students. He raved about how the students make transformational changes in just one short weekend. He (along with others reminiscing about similar experiences at the camp) convinced me to attend the camp as an "Adult Rotarian", a very prestigious role. And he couldn't have been more right. The camp is a gem. And he looked forward to attending every year. So, I could think of no better way to honor Dave's memory than to create an endowed sponsorship for a student to attend RYLA in Dave's name. Our goal is to raise $4200 to create a fund that will sustainably provide an annual sponsorship for one additional student to attend RYLA.
Feel free to share the link and help us keep Dave's memory alive by supporting the cause he cared about most.
Also, a generous member has offered to match the first $1000 of donations! So, we really can reach this goal with your help.
