History of Oktoberfest in La Crosse

Need a good excuse to put on your lederhosens or dirndl? Join us on Sept. 22 at the Riverside Bandshell for a special presentation of the Beste of Fest! Oktoberfest Festmaster Trustees David Ring (2013) and Chuck Roth (2015) will share the history and traditions of Gemutlichkeit in La Crosse!

  • Ever wonder who started Oktoberfest?
  • What’s the deal with that little man the Festmaster carries around?
  • What are the words to that Ein Prosit song?
  • What’s the deal with those leather shorts?
  • Where’s the best place to tap the golden keg?

Don’t miss this fun presentation for an insiders take on the 59 year tradition. Pull out your Oktoberfest apparel, an award will be given to the best dressed Fester!
